Amazing weekend all around for Climb Base5

This past weekend was something else to say the least. Not only did the Climb Base5 staff team been pull off a great party for members and the climbing community, a couple of our athletes took top spot in international climbing competitions on both sides of the Pacific!

Olympic hopefuls Alannah Yip and Tiffany Melius from the Climb Base5 Open Performance Team reached the podium in two separate climbing events that were happening on either side of the Pacific Ocean.

Competing at the Oceania Continental Championships in Noumea, New Caledonia from 12-15 October, Tiffany came in first in bouldering, second in speed, and third in lead as she paves her way to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Alannah, who’s already this year’s Canadian National champion in bouldering, lead, and speed climbing and a recipient of the Petro Canada FACE grant to support future Olympians, came first in the female Open category at the Northwest Boulder Fest hosted by the Seattle Bouldering Project on October 14th.

Finally, right here in Metro Vancouver on October 14th, Grillin’ and Chillin’ 2017 was an amazing customer appreciation event with almost 300 people enjoying a bit of food, fun, and community spirit!

We had amazing food, drinks, and cake on hand including local food truck, ChickPea with their delicious vegetarian Israeli food, Flashed cooked up their world famous BBQ sandwiches, local micro-brew from Central City Brewing. We also had wicked product demos by SCARPA and La Sportiva for shoes, Coast Protein with their cricket bars, and Bomber Climber?s natural skin care products for climbers. And who can forget our amazing dyno comp that had people cheering all night!

Not a bad weekend, eh?! 😛
