Lexi Binder

Elite Athlete

I got into climbing when my brother went to a birthday party that had a portable climbing wall, and I was invited to come and try it out. I ended up loving it and soon after that I found out about a kids climbing program at Project Climbing Centre in Abbotsford.

Training at Climb Base5 is super motivating. I love how strong everyone on the team is and it is always inspiring to get to climb with so many other strong youth athletes.

Outside of climbing, I love animals, so I love spending time with my pets. I have a three legged cat named Luke, another cat (who has all her legs) named Leia, a dog, named Zama, and some fish and frogs! I also recently started a part time job at Whitespot, which has been great as some of my favourite activities are eating, cooking and baking.

Another thing I love to do, is coach a kids program at Project Climbing Centre in Abbotsford, it is super cool to try to inspire a younger generation who all share a similar passion of climbing to mine. This year I also started working with Big Brothers and Big Sisters as a volunteer, and it has been an awesome feeling to be able to give back to the community and to hopefully make a difference in someone’s life.

I love travelling, and I am quite fortunate my family has been on tons of awesome trips together and I have been able to experience tons of cool places.
